Zenith Pilot Type 20 Blueprint

The replica Zenith Pilot Watches Type 20 Blueprint is powered by the automatic Elite 679 movement. It comes in a 45mm stainless steel case and upholds the Swiss brand's reputation for making pilot's watches. However, one notable feature of this watch is the attractive sandwich dial with a very unique pattern.

Whenever watches are discussed, the Zenith conversation inevitably turns to the self-winding 5Hz chronograph movement El Primero. This extraordinary movement was launched in 1969, and Zenith, founded in 1865, had many achievements in its history before launching the El Primero. For example, in 1900, the Swiss brand’s Zenith movement won a grand prize at the Paris World’s Fair.

Aviation pioneer Louis Blériot, famous for his 1909 crossing of the English Channel, was an avid lover of Swiss best replica watches and often wore a Zenith watch while embarking on dangerous flights. Blériot was not alone, other famous pilots of the era also chose to wear Zenith watches. Additionally, the original Zenith Pilot Montre d'Aéronef Type 20 watch was used on French aircraft in the late 1930s.

In 2012, the Le Locle brand launched a modern version of the Zenith Pilot Montre d'Aéronef Type 20, limited to 250 pieces. The following year, the model became a regular member of the brand's range. Additionally, there is an ever-expanding range of Type 20 models, some equipped with Elite movements and others with the highly regarded El Primero movement.

The new Zenith Pilot Type 20 Blueprint shares many of the same design specifications as its predecessor, including plump hour and minute hands and an oversized onion-shaped crown. However, there is one significant change to this model. The dial has a sandwich structure with a “blue print” pattern on a matte blue base and an additional sapphire disc on top. The latter disc is decorated with indexes, minute track and various forms of branding. By introducing depth to the dial landscape, the numerals take on a wonderful three-dimensional appeal. When the team at the Zenith Manufacturing Factory saw the blueprints of its historic building, they were immediately reminded of the blueprints they had seen of the earliest Aeronefs, the earliest aircraft designed by aviation pioneers, most notably Louis Blériot and his The Model XI he flew across the English Channel. As the preeminent watchmaker that accompanied the earliest pilots, Zenith seeks to highlight their ingenuity in a surprising way with the Pilot Type 20 Blueprint.

There's something about blueprints that sparks interest and curiosity. It transforms the wildest dreams into workable, tangible objects. This was a typical production and engineering plan of the mid-19th and early 20th centuries, with every element carefully calculated and accurately drawn as the basis for the project. Today, the blueprint is a relic of a bygone era, but it remains fascinating and synonymous with careful planning and clever vision.replica mens watches

When looking at the dial of a watch, people tend to focus on the color, surface treatment, shape of the hands and hour markers, and the layout of the numbers, without thinking too much about the precise calculations and design considerations that go into the manufacturing process. However, every Zenith dial is carefully designed and developed, with no detail spared. The designers of the watch factory integrated the production plan directly into the dial, striving to highlight this "unknown" side of the dial. The unexpected and mesmerizing dial consists of two parts: a matte blue base, engraved with all the technical plans and notes used by the dial manufacturer, and above it a sapphire crystal with the usual markings and logos. This creates a captivating visual effect of depth, with the various markers casting slight shadows on the blue base, giving the impression that they are hovering above the blueprint dial.

Limited to 250 pieces, the Pilot Type 20 Blueprint continues in the tradition of Zenith’s ubiquitous Pilot watches. The oversized steel case features a mix of polished and satin-brushed finishes and features the iconic oversized “onion”-shaped crown, allowing the time to be adjusted even while wearing flying gloves. There is a screw plate on the side of the case engraved with the watch’s unique limited edition number. Powering this wearable flight instrument is an Elite-made automatic movement that provides at least 50 hours of autonomous operation. The blue calfskin strap pays homage to the early days of aviation and is reminiscent of classic shearling flight jackets, complete with rivets and titanium pin buckles, as well as the distinctive tag found on vintage pilot helmets.
