Location: Main office Camden with delivery across various sites in London
Salary: £26,010 pro rata
Contract: Fixed term until May 2022 with a view to possible extension
Hours: 35 hours per week (part-time will be considered)
Annual leave: 30 days, plus bank holidays (pro rata)
Pension: 3% contribution
Together with over 140 Network Partners, Camden Carers is a member of the Carers Trust Network, the largest UK wide charity for the nation’s 7 million unpaid carers. We provide support, information, advice and services for children, young people and adults caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend. The number of carers is a growing issue, with 3 in 5 of us likely to become a carer at some point in our lifetime. Unpaid carers save the UK economy over £132bn every year and act as a main support to our stretched health and social care systems.
Camden Carers has an exciting opportunity for a Employment Advisor to support Project Manager and Team to develop, plan and implement the Working for Carers programme. This project is jointly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting manager in meeting the funding requirements and targets to unemployed and economically inactive unpaid carers across Camden, Islington Richmond, Kingston, Sutton, Westminster Central South London. The EPA role will need to include a range of activities that can be tailored to meet individual carers’ needs, including one-to-one support, peer and group activities and time-limited in-work support to enable sustainable employment. This project will be delivered as part of a wider programme of activity across all London boroughs aimed at developing an effective and replicable service delivery model for employability support services supporting unpaid carers.
We are looking for an approachable, collaborative and highly organised person with experience of Employment advisory role who is able to, manage a caseload of clients, support manager with development and supervision of staff. and effective relationship development skills. It is therefore key that you have effective people management skills alongside highly developed analytical skills to manage their outputs and clearly detail results and progress towards set targets and outcomes for unpaid carers. Applicants must be willing to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Level 3 in an IAG qualification is desirable. Must be willing to travel across London occasionally (driven by restrictions).
