Carers Awareness Training
Helping organisations recognise and support unpaid carers

Across Camden, thousands of people are providing unpaid care to a family member, friend or neighbour who couldn’t manage without their support. Many people don’t recognise themselves as a carer and even fewer know about their rights and the support available to them.

Our free Carer Awareness Training helps organisations recognise and better support carers, improving wellbeing, access to services and outcomes for the people they care for.

What the training covers:
-
Understanding unpaid care: who carers are, signs someone is caring, and the impact of caring on health and wellbeing
-
Carers’ rights: a clear overview of the support carers are legally entitled to
-
Barriers to support: why carers may not engage with services and how to use inclusive, culturally sensitive approaches
-
Our services: an overview of the full range of Camden Carers services
-
How to identify and support carers: practical ways to recognise carers early and make effective referrals
