At these times when you enter the hospital you would ask the porter for information, when we now enter the local hospital we still ask the porter for information. Tibor Gold - Trustee
I am from Hungary and came to the UK at the age of 15. I have lived in Camden since 1967. My professional career has been as a solicitor and patent attorney specialising in technology law. In parallel I have been very active in the voluntary sector in various roles including over 10 years as a trustee in local charities. I have become increasingly aware of the burning issues of an aging population, underfunding of social care and the burdens of carers struggling with e.g. dementia and disability in general. Camden Carers are doing a great job supporting carers and I hope to contribute to its continued success and growth.

Tayo is 33 years old and cares for her mother who was diagnosed with Schizophrenia when Tayo was just 14. Tayo is extremely creative and in 2016 she was awarded a carers grant that enabled her to set up her own clothing business, designing and making modern clothing from traditional African fabrics. This has grown from strength to strength and she now makes clothes for people in many countries around the world. She said that being self-employed is perfect as she can focus on her caring role while doing something that she really enjoys. She also said that it has been a great way to bond with her mother and strengthen their relationship.
